About Us - Company History
State Soft Water was created in 1970 when Cliff and
Barb Klefstad saw the need for a water treatment company
to take care of the needs of a rapidly expanding Livingston
County. State Soft Water was created as a family owned
business to fill these needs. They realized that the
best way to be successful was to take good care of the
customers before, and especially after the sale. This
lead to steady growth due in large part to repeat business
and referrals from satisfied customers. The original
plan, which still stands today, was to offer high quality
products and services at reasonable prices.
Cliff started out delivering salt, as well as selling
and renting water softeners. Soon afterwards, Iron Filters,
Carbon tanks, and Reverse Osmosis drinking water systems
were added to the product line. From there things continued
to grow. Their son Rian started working with them in
1978. Matt Dickinson joined in 1993. Most recently Charles
Hix was hired in 1999.
Today we are equipped to handle almost any water quality
needs. We rent and sell many types of equipment to: soften,
remove Iron or odors, or to purify your water. We have
many years of experience, and are well trained to repair
your water treatment system. We are happy to repair systems
of unknown origin and from dealers no longer in business. |
